At Senacre Wood Primary School we carefully foster an inclusive ethos and actively promote equality of opportunity for all, including disabled people: pupils, staff, parents, carers and other people who use the school. We strive to achieve the best outcomes for all our students as individuals and as members of our school community. Every child is valued, respected and welcomed to the school regardless of any additional educational need (AEN). Children’s thoughts and feelings, and those of their families, are held in high regard. We recognise that Quality First Teaching is the greatest tool for ensuring academic progress for all children and ensure that teaching and the classroom environment reflect this. Senacre Wood staff welcome and work collaboratively with individuals and outside agencies with the expertise to offer support, recommendations and guidance. These include (but are not limited to) educational psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, paediatricians, and specialist teachers. AEN can include children identified with a Special Educational Need (SEN), English as an Additional Language (EAL), Medical needs or where children have been allocated Pupil Premium funding or have experienced disadvantages.

Please read our SEN and Disability Policy /SEN Information Report for detailed information about our support for Special Educational Needs /Disability.
