For the first time, on Friday 1st February 2019, Senacre Wood School took part in the NSPCC's Number Day. Children paid £1 to wear number-themed clothing. Many chose sports gear, while others totally transformed t-shirts and headbands with numbers and symbols. Each class based their morning's work around a number-themed story book - imagine Year 1's delight when the weather provided them with the perfect conditions for counting 'Footprints In The Snow'! Other classes had fun exploring arrays, number bonds to 10 and equations through their stories.
As well as having fun, the children and their parents raised a magnificent £431 for a very deserving charity.
Four our second year, we are looking forward to joining thousands of schools for a mega maths-inspired fundraising day to raise money for the NSPCC.
