SWITCH OFF YOUR ENGINES!

At senacre Wood Primary school, we were delighted to come second in the school banner competition for 2018!

The Council, together with Tunbridge Wells Council, invited all primary schools to get involved to reduce air-pollution across the borough by entering their ‘SWITCH OFF YOUR ENGINE’ schools banner competition for 2018!

Schools were asked to come up with a creative design with a strong message that helps people to think about the damage they are doing by not switching off their engines when they are waiting in traffic or right outside the school gates at drop off or pick up times.

We were delighted when Katy (Y6) won second place and the mayor of Maidstone presented the school with her banner.

Art Rebels!

Senacre Wood Primary School entered the Turner Contemporary's 'Art Rebels' competition. The children had to consider different types of art and talked about 'What is art?' and 'What makes an art rebel?'.

We were absolutely delighted when Jacob (Y2) and Daniel (Y1) 's work got shortlisted from over 1,400 entries. The boys, along with their families, Mrs Clarkson and Miss Comerford attended the awards evening in Canterbury where their work was displayed in an exhibition along with the other shortlisted work.

Jacob's work was awarded 'highly commended' and is currently in an exhibition at the Turner Contemporary in Margate! Great work boys!
